June 2015 Update

Posted on August 13, 2015 at 9:12 AM by Ryan Quimby

Your Charter Commission has been busy in June. In addition to our regular meetings, members of the Charter Commission met with most of the elected town boards and department heads in June to gather their opinions of what works and what needs improvement in the current form of town government. The Commission’s focus is on structural and organizational issues rather than personalities or the specific functions of the departments. In July, members will begin meeting with administrators and elected officials of other towns of similar size in the area to explore how different forms of town government operate and what their strengths and weaknesses are. The Commission is also working on hiring a consultant to help with the process and to help write the eventual proposed charter. The Commission continues to meet on alternate Thursdays at 6:30 pm in the media room of the Senior Center on North Main Street and all residents are invited to attend the meetings.
