East Longmeadow residents are reminded that dog licenses for 2023 are now available at the Town Clerk’s office in the East Longmeadow Town Hall. All current dog licenses show an expiration date of March 31, 2023. Dog license fees are $10.00 for spayed or neutered dogs and $20.00 for dogs that are not spayed or neutered.
Proof of current rabies vaccination is required on all dogs six months or older. If the dog has been spayed or neutered, proof must be provided when licensing the dog for the first time. A $25.00 late fee will be applied if your dog is licensed after April 1, 2023 in addition to the license fee.
As of now you will be able to license your dog online by clicking here.
Payment by check is preferable. Please call the Town Clerk’s office (525-5400 ext. 1000) if you have any questions.
Did you know that
there are about 47,000 dogs in the Pioneer Valley, and that together, they produce about 17.5 tons of animal waste a day? Dog waste does not act as an effective fertilizer. Stormwater runoff can wash dog waste into ponds, lakes, streams and drinking water supplies, causing outbreaks of E. coli and other bacteria harmful to both people and wildlife.
It can contaminate parks, athletic fields and places where children play. We all need to pick up and properly dispose of our pet’s waste in the trash can. Join all the dog owners in your neighborhood who are showing they care and take the PUP (Pick up Poop)
