Local Emergency Planning

The Local Emergency Planning Committee is responsible for:

  • developing a comprehensive emergency plan (CEMP) for the community and keeping the plan up-to-date;
  • receiving information about accidental releases;
  • collecting, managing and providing public access to information on hazardous chemicals in the community;
  • educating  the public about risks from accidental and routine releases of chemicals, and work with facilities to minimize the risks.
